Supplies:

• Premo Clay
• Buna Cord
• Knitting Needle or Bamboo Skewer
• Wire
• Flat Nosed Pliers
• Super Glue Gel

Step 1: Roll two balls of clay, making one of them slightly larger. Take the larger of the two balls, and roll with your finger on your work surface to get a "pill" shaped bead.

Step 2: Make a hole in your round bead by using the end of your buna cord. Press the buna into the bead about half way (twisting the buna as you push it in will help!). Do not go all the way through the bead. Gently remove the buna from the bead.

Step 3: Use a knitting needle or bamboo skewer to make a hole all the way through your "pill" shaped bead. You want the hole in this bead to be about 1 1/2 times the diameter of the buna you are using. Remove the needle from the bead. Bake both beads at this time, and then cool them.

Step 4: Put some Super Glue Gel inside the hole you made in your round bead. Insert your buna cord into the hole. Don't move the buna for a few minutes to give the glue a chance to get a good bond going!

Step 5: Take a piece of wire, and bend it in half. Put the other end of your buna in the wire, where the bend is.

Step 6: Take the "pill" shaped bead and thread it onto the wire.

Step 7: Grasp the ends of the wire with your pliers, and start pulling it through the bead. This will pull the buna through the bead, and it should be a nice snug fit. This might take a little elbow grease! Continue to pull the wire through until you get a loop of buna coming out the end. Pull it through until you have a loop of buna big enough to fit over your round bead. You can trim the cut end of the buna if there is any left showing outside the bead.

Step 8: And that's it folks! As you can see in the picture, you now have a "bead and loop closure", and a wonderful utility that will work on all your buna cord jewelry.!

Tip: "Instead of using wire to 'pull' the doubled length of buna through the closure bead, I use a length of heavy fishing line. I came across this idea when to my dismay the hole in the bead I made wasn't large enough for a wire loop so out of desperation I grabbed some fishing line and it worked like a dream! It didn't cut into the buna cord at all and I could sucessfully incorporate the smaller bead for the look I wanted!"

Tip: "If you are making a necklace that is long enough to pull over your head, a good way to attach the two loose ends to each other permanently is to find a small, pretty bead with an opening the size of your buna cord and glue the two ends of the buna cord into each end of the bead. Or of course you could make a small PC bead with just the right opening size."
