Step 1: Cut a two inch piece of wire
Step 2: With the smallest part of your round nose pliers make a small loop at the very end of your wire. The result will look like a P with a very long back.
Step 3: Grasp the wire an inch below the loop with the thickest portion of your round nose pliers. Bend the wire so that the back of the small loop is flat against the main part of the wire. You want it to resemble a shepards hook. You should have 3/4 inch tail of wire trailing past the hook.
Step 4: Bend the 3/4 inch tail to a 90 degree angle perpendicular to the hook.
Step 5: Grasp the hook in your left hand using your flatnose pliers so that the bent tail is facing away from you. Grasp the end of the tail with the middle of your round nose pliers and bend the wire towards you making a loop at the bottom of the hook.
Step 1: Cut one two inch piece of 18 guage wire.
Step 2: Grasp the wire 1/4 of an inch from one end with the middle part of your round nose pliers. Bend the wire towards you until the tip of the wire crosses over the main part of the wire.
Step 3: Snip the end that crosses over flush to the main body of wire.
Step 4: Grasp the wire 1/2 inch from the other end of the wire with the thickest part of your round nose pliers. Bend the wire in the opposite direction of the smaller loop until the tail crosses over.
Step 5: Snip the end that crosses over flush to the main body of wire. You now should have a figure 8.
Step 6: Now graps the larger loop with your flat nose pliers near the baseof the loop. Hold it firmly. Grasp the smaller loop in the chain nose pliers and rotate the smaller loop 90 degrees so that it's perpendicular to the larger loop.
Congrats!!! You've completed the hook and eye clasp!!!
