Sue Heaser is an English polymer clay designer and artist who has worked
full time in the medium for over 12 years. Initially she ran a small
business making and supplying polymer clay jewellery to a large number
of craft, fashion and gift outlets in Eastern England. For the past five
years she has been writing and illustrating articles and books on
polymer clay, pushing the medium in ever new directions. After a globe-trotting childhood in the Far East, Middle East and Africa, Sue studied at Art College and University in England. She initially worked for the Museum of London's Archaeological Unit and progressed to a career as an Archaeological Illustrator. She moved to rural East Anglia with her husband when their first child was born and continued to combine motherhood (2 daughters) with free-lance illustration, glass engraving and puppetry. Then she discovered polymer clay which has held her interest for longer than anything else to date! She works in jewellery, miniatures, models, puppets and dolls.
Sue's first book, "Making Polymer Clay Jewellery" is to be published in
May. Her second, "Making Doll's House Miniatures in Polymer Clay" is
scheduled for publication in the fall of 1997. She is currently working
on her third, "Making Miniature Dolls in Polymer Clay" while juggling a
regular magazine column and frequent workshops and lectures in UK (but
sadly not in the US this year - she is too busy!)
