Tell us in your own words, how you discovered polymer clay and how long have you been using it?

I'm using polymer clay for a long time but professionally 3 years.

Are there any special artists that you can attribute your interest to or that have inspired you?

Sue Heaser (we met in UK last year and in Italy last June), Donna Kato (I'll meet her next October), Carol Blackburn

What is your specialty?

Polymer clay jewellery, Miniatures, art clay silver jewellery

Can you tell us why you find polymer clay the expressive medium for you?

Polymer clay has occupied all of my free time since I discovered it and is friendly and sharing and as a result I found that people wanted to learn more. Since I am a teacher for the adult education centres (Handicraft, mosaics, stained glass) in Cyprus more than ten years I have made a web for communication and an association where people can make workshops and learn more

Have you published any polymer clay books or do you have any in the works?

Not yet. I think that next year it will be ready in english and greek language.

I know it is very difficult to express, but have you won any awards for your polymer clay work?

I've made an exhibition last year with a lot of success. This year is due 28 of September. TV appearance will be after the workshop of 4th of October

What are your expectations for the future? Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?

I hope that I will have a very successful website with a lot of members and still teaching polymer clay. I hope that many people will learn so our community will be bigger.

Do you have any advice for the beginning polymer clay enthusiasts?

The basic of polymer clay are quickly mastered. After trying with patient and step by step the key techniques you will be able to experiment your own projects.

Are you a member of any Polymer Clay group,or any other craft organization?

Yes. The British Polymer Clay Guild, National Polymer Clay Guild.

What brands of polymer clay do you prefer and why?

Kato clay for its flexibility after baking and resistance to cracking and there is no change of the colour Premo for the longest working time and for so many colours available fimo classic for the colours'flexibility after baking

Last and most important can you tell us all about you? Your family, your training?

I finish university for Biochemistry in Athens and entered an art college and took a degree in stained glass, mosaics, and visantine icons. I am working for the Ministry of Education and Culture in Cyprus and teaching all the above and handicraft for the Adults Education Centres in Cyprus. I have aproximately 200 students per a week. Last June I manage to make the Cyprus Polymer Clay Association and until now we have 58 members. We 'll have our first workshop next October. I ' m married with a wonderful man Alexis for 26 years. We have two sons Antrea and Antoni. Antreas is 25 and getting married next July. Antoni is at University on Political Science and still working with polymer clay as well.
