NETTIE O. AYSCUE

Your Company Name: Aspen Productions
Email Address/Web Page: Netwheat@worldnet.att.net
City & State: Littleton, North Carolina
Type of Craft: Polymer Clay

Tell us in your own words, how you discovered polymer clay and how long have you been using it?

In Walmart and saw a display - thought I'd give it a try.

Are there any special artists that you can attribute your interest to or that have inspired you?

I've only seen a few artists - I watch the Carol Duval show on Home and Garden Television - and she has some good pointers.

What is your specialty?

Ceramic Tiles - I use the clay to design flowers, fruits, vegeatables and MORE and glue them to tiles then varnish all and WOW!

Can you tell us why you find polymer clay the expressive medium for you?

I love the results!  Easy to work with.  Easy to clean up!

Have you published any polymer clay books or do you have any in the works?

No - I'm really just an amateur.

I know it is very difficult to express, but have you won any awards for your polymer clay work?

No.

What are your expectations for the future? Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?

I just craft for my own pleasure.

Do you have any advice for the beginning polymer clay enthusiasts?

TRY EVERYTHING!  GREAT IDEAS COME FROM WORKING AND IMPROVING AND WORKING SOME MORE!

Are you a member of any Polymer Clay group,or any other craft organization?

No.

What brands of polymer clay do you prefer and why?

Sculpey.  It's softer and easier to get conditioned.  I use more FIMO because it's more readily available here.

Last and most important can you tell us all about you? Your family, your training?

I own my own advertising production agency.  I create newspaper ads, radio commercials, television commercials, brochures, business collateral designs and more.  I craft for pleasure - and folks seem to love the things I create.  Married - two grown sons, four dogs and three cats (guess I tried to fill an empty nest).  Recently moved to a farm and am raising 10 chickens and 2 acres of vegetables!  WOW what a lifestyle change.
