Tell us in your own words, how you discovered polymer clay and how long have you been using it?

Initially I was using a material that is analogous to polymer clay which is used to seal cracks, then I discovered this amazing clay after coming to US, so for the past 1 and half yrs I've been using this.

Are there any special artists that you can attribute your interest to or that have inspired you?

I've gone through a few books by Sue Heaser, Stacey Morgan, Gail Ritchey, Maureen Carlson and sometimes browse through the net, but my real inspirer is my sister who is a very good artist. Sometimes unknowingly I make projects similar to some artists, but I believe I have my own style.

What is your specialty?

I make angels of different sizes, I dress them up with hand-sewn fabric and wings.I love to make miniatures also.

Can you tell us why you find polymer clay the expressive medium for you?

Polymer clay is so versatile, like I am able to reach out for what I am actually thinking to accomplish. Some brands are so soft and pliable.

Have you published any polymer clay books or do you have any in the works?

No I am just a beginner.

I know it is very difficult to express, but have you won any awards for your polymer clay work?

Not really, because I am new to this place, but in my place I was taking classes for grown ups and for a few 5 year old kids which was real fun!!!

What are your expectations for the future? Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?

I would like to acheive something with this Polymer clay, so even if I am held up with something else, I would like to pursue with this art. After 5 years I hope I will be able to do something with this wonder clay....

Do you have any advice for the beginning polymer clay enthusiasts?

I myself being a beginner, I may not advise but my strong suggestion is that, please do not underestimate your own work, be expressive in whatever you do, try to watch how artists perform, because you can learn so many fine details. Start with something small, so you will know the type of clay which is good for your project.

Are you a member of any Polymer Clay group,or any other craft organization?

Yes, I am member of some groups like artsEfest, Clayfully speaking, Craftsitedirectory, etc.

What brands of polymer clay do you prefer and why?

I've used Model magic as the starting material, it's so light and easy to mold. Now I am using Sculpey III, it's really soft and has good tensile strength.

Last and most important can you tell us all about you? Your family, your training?

I am married to a Post Doc fellow, mother of a two year old daughter. I don't have prior training with polymer clay, learned many through trials, and going through the net. I am really obsessed with polymer clay and I am planning to sell some unique ones.
