Tell us in your own words, how you discovered polymer clay and how long have you been using it?
It's been about 2 years since I seriously started using polymer clay at the suggestion of a friend. I had been making jewelry in metals and stone but was having trouble fitting it into my lifestyle.
Are there any special artists that you can attribute your interest to or that have inspired you?
There is so much fabulous work being done now that it is hard to just name a few! I look at everything!
What is your specialty?
Most people know me as a big fan of Liquid Sculpey and I can't imagine doing clay without it. Lately, I've been working on larger and larger vessel forms but I still enjoy jewelry.
Can you tell us why you find polymer clay the expressive medium for you?
It must be the endless possibilities! This is still a new medium and it is so versatile.
Have you published any polymer clay books or do you have any in the works?
No books, but the Liquid Sculpey info that you can find here at PCC on Delphi was reprinted in Polyinformer.
I know it is very difficult to express, but have you won any awards for your polymer clay work?
I'm thrilled to say that I have two pieces in the Gleaming Treasures Contest at Embellishment'98!
What are your expectations for the future? Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?
Still claying! And teaching, which I have just started and absolutely love!
Do you have any advice for the beginning polymer clay enthusiasts?
Read the FAQ's here and at other sites. Check out the ng, rec,crafts.polymer-clay and join a local guild and the NPCG.
Are you a member of any Polymer Clay group,or any other craft
Yes, the NPCG is well worth joining. Also, the Southern Connecticut Polymer Clay Guild meets the third Sat of the month in Branford at the Rock Garden. We start at 11:00. Hope to see you there!
What brands of polymer clay do you prefer and why?
Fimo and Premo cover most of my clay needs- and Liquid Sculpey, of course!
Last and most important can you tell us all about you? Your family, your
training?Leave Your Interview!
I have a life long interest in the Arts but polymer clay has won my heart.
