Tell us in your own words, how you discovered polymer clay and how long have you been using it?

A friend of mine who is a nurse, had a tiny clay nurse on her computer. I thought it was cute and decided to try clay. Now there is no stopping me.

Are there any special artists that you can attribute your interest to or that have inspired you?

Maureen Carlson

What is your specialty?

Children, brides and grooms, characters of the doctors and fellow workers. Right now I am working on ornaments for the holidays.

Can you tell us why you find polymer clay the expressive medium for you?

It feels like something is "born" in my hands. There is a thrill when the creative process takes hold and a little person looks back at me.

Have you published any polymer clay books or do you have any in the works?

I do not have any books on the back burner. Or on the front burner for that matter either. I have been on cable television for my decorative painting but since I have found clay, I haven't painted.

I know it is very difficult to express, but have you won any awards for your polymer clay work?

Not for polymer clay

What are your expectations for the future? Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?

Retired and doing the things I love full time.

Do you have any advice for the beginning polymer clay enthusiasts?

Enjoy the wonderful opportunity that this medium gives you. Have a ball.

Are you a member of any Polymer Clay group,or any other craft organization?

I am in the process of finding others, who like myself, are out there. When I find a group, I will jump in with both feet.

What brands of polymer clay do you prefer and why?

Fimo for faces, Sculpey III for everything else.. Sculpey is easier on the hands.

Last and most important can you tell us all about you? Your family, your training?

I am happiest when I am creating. I am married to a very loving retired gentleman. I still work for a few more years.. I have two children and eight grandchildren. This is the best time in my life.
