Tell us in your own words, how you discovered polymer clay and how long have you been using it?

I found polymer clay when I was 14, when a friend shared a
block of FIMO with me. I became addicted and have been using polymer clay
for seven years.
Are there any special artists that you can attribute your interest to or that have inspired you?

Nan Roche's "The New Clay" was great and I admire the work of
Kathleen Dustin, Tory Hughes and Maureen Carlson.
What is your specialty?

My specialty is small figurine work as well as traditional
jewelry pieces.
Can you tell us why you find polymer clay the expressive medium for you?

I love the color and firmness of the material as well as the
permanent and waterproof aspects. Polymer clay is a medium with no limits
and I like that.
Have you published any polymer clay books or do you have any in the works?

I have no books planned.
I know it is very difficult to express, but have you won any awards for your polymer clay work?

I have received several blue ribbons and a "Best of Show:
Jewelry" at my county fair.
What are your expectations for the future? Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?

I hope to have graduated from college and hold a Bachelor of
Fine Arts degree form the University of Oregon. I also hope to have a small
business selling my surface designs and polymer clay work.
Do you have any advice for the beginning polymer clay enthusiasts?

Be very patient with the FIMO! At the beginning I thought
that polymer clay was supposed to be crumbly, but with a lot of elbow
grease and a pasta machine lovely supple FIMO can be yours!
Are you a member of any Polymer Clay group,or any other craft
organization?

I plan to join a regional guild soon.
What brands of polymer clay do you prefer and why?

I love FIMO for it's color and firmness, Super Sculpty for
small doll work, and Promat/Premo for thin sheet work where strength is
needed.
Last and most important can you tell us all about you? Your family, your
training?

I live with my artistic partner in crime, Josh, and I attend
the University of Oregon. I truly think that polymer clay is a boundless
medium and I adore exploring it.
