Tell us in your own words, how you discovered polymer clay and how long have you been using it?

I received my first box of sculpey in 1982 after working with bread dough art for a few years.

Are there any special artists that you can attribute your interest to or that have inspired you?

I don't have a special artist that I can attribute my love of clay to; but, I admire the creativity that is out there.

What is your specialty?

I love to make sweet little characters, dolls and animals, and during the holidays I make tons of christmas ornaments.

Can you tell us why you find polymer clay the expressive medium for you?

Clay just feels so good to sculpt, and if you make a mistake you can start all over. Plus, I loved play dough when I was a kid!!

Have you published any polymer clay books or do you have any in the works?

No, maybe in the future I might give it a try.

I know it is very difficult to express, but have you won any awards for your polymer clay work?

I had a few newspaper articles written about my work, and won a few local prizes.

What are your expectations for the future? Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?

Most of my work is whimsical and I want to continue in that area, but I also want to explore caning and other techniques.

Do you have any advice for the beginning polymer clay enthusiasts?

Careful!! You may become addicted.

Are you a member of any Polymer Clay group,or any other craft organization?

I belong to ACCI.

What brands of polymer clay do you prefer and why?

Love sculpey, but have now discovered fimo soft and it is fantastic. Easy to work with and almost unbreakable.

Last and most important can you tell us all about you? Your family, your training?

I'm the mother of three kids, 20, 19, 17 and the older they get, the more excited I get. I can spend more time playing with my clay.
