Tell us in your own words, how you discovered polymer clay and how long have you been using it?
I started sculpting in the 80ís, and working with polymer clay in the 90ís. I discovered Polymer Clay at a craft store.
Are there any special artists that you can attribute your interest to or that have inspired you?
As a child my mother was always working on a project. I never new what she was going to come up with next and still donít today. She has been my greatest inspiration. in my art word.
What is your specialty?
Sculptures, Jewelry, Ornaments, etc. Many are of a nature theme, Subjects include, but not limited to: manatees, dolphins, birds and other wildlife.
Can you tell us why you find polymer clay the expressive medium for you?
Polymer clay permits me to work on a project for long periods with out the threat of the clay hardening.
Have you published any polymer clay books or do you have any in the works?
Not at this time.
I know it is very difficult to express, but have you won any awards for your polymer clay work?
I have several of my sculptures on display in our City Hall (http://www.ci.brooksville.fl.us/art/index.htm.). Much of my artwork has been displayed in an art gallery here in Florida, and has been featured on the gallery's television commercials.
What are your expectations for the future? Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?
To have a very active web site, as well as having my Sculptured Jewelry in a gift shops.
Do you have any advice for the beginning polymer clay enthusiasts?
Practice and practice: Just have fun!

What brands of polymer clay do you prefer and why?
Premo, Fimo and Sculpey. Depending on the project that I am working on.

My name is Evie and I am a self-taught artist. I started sculpting in the 80ís, and working with polymer clay in the 90ís. I have a considerable background in sculpting with polymer clay which allows me to create my work. Creating sculptures and Jewelry design that someone finds beautiful and is willing to purchase is very exciting and gives me enormous satisfaction.
