Tell us in your own words, how you discovered polymer clay and how long have you been using it?
I've been working with polymer clay since 1997. I pretty much found polymer by accident when I injured my finger and didn't want to crochet anymore. I was looking for another craft and found polymer.
Are there any special artists that you can attribute your interest to or that have inspired you?
Good grief... everybody. In recent times I'm especially attracted to mica shift techniques, such as those of Mike Buesseler and Pier Voulkos.
What is your specialty?
Mica shift mostly. Pearlescent Premo clay is what I come back to again and again.
Can you tell us why you find polymer clay the expressive medium for you?
Even the mistakes look good. :)
Have you published any polymer clay books or do you have any in the works?
I know it is very difficult to express, but have you won any awards for your polymer clay work?
What are your expectations for the future? Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?
Hope to still be having fun.
Do you have any advice for the beginning polymer clay enthusiasts?
Just play. Your own style will come through. Spend lots of time at PCC and ask questions. Polymer artists are famous for sharing knowledge and friendship openly.
Are you a member of any Polymer Clay group,or any other craft
I am a proud member of the Northwest Polymer Clay Guild.
What brands of polymer clay do you prefer and why?
Premo. Easy to work with. Amazing colors. And wonderful properties for mica shift
