Tell us in your own words, how you discovered polymer clay and how long have you been using it?

About 15 years ago, I found some Sculpey at an art supply store. I sculpted a mermaid with it. I soon switched to Fimo which I have preferred ever since. However, I am enjoying experimenting with the new polymer clays that are becoming available on the market.

Are there any special artists that you can attribute your interest to or that have inspired you?

My mother and father are both artistically talented and have been my best influence and inspiration.

What is your specialty?

I sculpt character art dolls, some of which I use to illustrate the children's stories I write.

Can you tell us why you find polymer clay the expressive medium for you?

No kiln required! And the results I achieve are always true to my artristic vision.

Have you published any polymer clay books or do you have any in the works?

I write children's stories and hope to illustrate some of them with photos of 3D scenes featuring my sculpted characters.

I know it is very difficult to express, but have you won any awards for your polymer clay work?

I have not enetered any contests.

What are your expectations for the future? Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?

I expect to be published! I hope to bring my children's stories to children everywhere.

Do you have any advice for the beginning polymer clay enthusiasts?

Find your own voice...and SHOUT!! Condition, condition, condition!! ...bake low and longer

Are you a member of any Polymer Clay group,or any other craft organization?

I am one of the thirteen founding members of Clay Amies, the new (1 yr old as of Dec '98) online Canadian collective of polymer artists--we welcome world-wide membership! Find us at http://users.envise.com/clayamies/.

What brands of polymer clay do you prefer and why?

I prefer Fimo for my sculptures because of it's strength.. But I never met a polymer clay I wouldn't try.

Last and most important can you tell us all about you? Your family, your training?

I am self-taught and have been sculpting for over twenty years.
