Tell us in your own words, how you discovered polymer clay and how long have you been using it?

Polymer Clay became my obsession in 1993 and I have been working with this great stuff ever since!

Are there any special artists that you can attribute your interest to or that have inspired you?

Sarah Shriver, Kathy Amt, Kathleen Dustin, Pier Voulkos, Nan Roche, Lindly Hunauni, Marie O'Dell - the list goes on and on!

What is your specialty?

Millefiori I have to say is my forte, however I am now moving into image transfers, illuminated millefiori and mokume gane which adds diversity and richness to my designs

Can you tell us why you find polymer clay the expressive medium for you?

I love everyting about it! The texture, the colors, the forgivingness (?) of it, the incredible diversity!

Have you published any polymer clay books or do you have any in the works?

I have my own Beginners Millefiori Book which I sell to customers through workshops and craft shows

I know it is very difficult to express, but have you won any awards for your polymer clay work?

No, not yet

What are your expectations for the future? Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?

I hope to diversify my range of jewelry, teach more workshops, get more people hooked on this great craft, and also am going 'live' on the web to sell my work and also polymer clay and tools in Australia

Do you have any advice for the beginning polymer clay enthusiasts?

Just get in there and start - that's the hardest step often. Then just experiment and try out all sorts of techniques till you find those you love, then work with them!

Are you a member of any Polymer Clay group,or any other craft organization?

National PC Guild, New Zealand PC Guild

What brands of polymer clay do you prefer and why?

Fimo Classic - love the firmness and colors/ Premo - love the metallics, transparents and colors

Last and most important can you tell us all about you? Your family, your training?

I work as a Polymer Clay Artist and Designer almost full-time, and support myself through my craft. I am also an Occupational Therapist working part-time in aged care. I live with my partner Lex and two beautiful furry Miniature Schnauzer kids - Sashi & Wooki. I am hooked on Polymer and have just started a new venture to launch a web-site to sell my designs and polymer clay in Australia - very exciting. Also to teach classes! Come and visit my site - it's only in it's infancy and will grow as fast as I can design the new pages (lots of work!)
