Tell us in your own words, how you discovered polymer clay and how long have you been using it?

When I was in high school. I started working with it in 1998. 5 years ago.

Are there any special artists that you can attribute your interest to or that have inspired you?

Shelly Comiskey and Donna Kato

What is your specialty?

I make mostly Christmas items such as Santa holding xmas lights and Snowman holding xmas lights with school colored hats.

Can you tell us why you find polymer clay the expressive medium for you?

always wanted to work with it. I love how I can make sometime out of a block of colors. It makes me concentrate

Have you published any polymer clay books or do you have any in the works?

No, But I did send hot off the press some pictures of my work. That was several months ago.

I know it is very difficult to express, but have you won any awards for your polymer clay work?

I have been doing craft shows for about 7 years. This year one weekend I sold $800.00 worth of my clay creations. I'm going to try to find some contest to enter my stuff in.

What are your expectations for the future? Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?

I'm trying to get off the ground I want to call my company Claytoons by Robin. I have my stuff in three different stores. I would like to start my own business.

Do you have any advice for the beginning polymer clay enthusiasts?

Practice, practice all what's that practice. I look at stuff I made when I first started I know I have improved 100% there is always room for improvement.

Are you a member of any Polymer Clay group,or any other craft organization?

No But I'm interested in getting into one. I never heard of them having them where I live in Cincinnati.

What brands of polymer clay do you prefer and why?

Premo and Fimo. I just tried Kato clay. I like Premo mixed with fimo it is easy to work with. Kato is good a little stiff.

Last and most important can you tell us all about you? Your family, your training?

I live in Cincinnati all the craft show I do here I'm the only person I know that sells and works with polymer clay in the area at least on the west side of town. I love making clay figures like santa and snowman are my favorite.
