Tell us in your own words, how you discovered polymer clay and how long have you been using it?

I discovered polymer clay through another artist friend, I have been using it for 5 years.

Are there any special artists that you can attribute your interest to or that have inspired you?

Yes, the late Robert McKinley and Elinor Peace Bailey.

What is your specialty?

My specialty is one of a kind dolls.

Can you tell us why you find polymer clay the expressive medium for you?

I get immediate results with polymer clay, I can have a finished doll head in one few hour setting, as opposed to several days with air drying clays.

Have you published any polymer clay books or do you have any in the works?

Not yet.

I know it is very difficult to express, but have you won any awards for your polymer clay work?

Yes, I have been in "Embellishment" Invitation Exhibit for polymer figures, I was featured on the TV program "The Spirit of Texas", my work is sold at several local galleries, and by two reps that sell accross the nation.

What are your expectations for the future? Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?

I presently have a full time job. I hope to retire in 4 to 5 years and work on my dolls and art full time.

Do you have any advice for the beginning polymer clay enthusiasts?

Woek on your art as much as you can, and learn as much about the medium as possible.

Are you a member of any Polymer Clay group,or any other craft organization?

Yes, I am a member of the Houston Polymer Clay Guild and the National Polymer Clay Guild.

What brands of polymer clay do you prefer and why?

I use Super Sculpey. it is strong and easy on my hands.

Last and most important can you tell us all about you? Your family, your training?

I am a New Orleans born, Houston Artist, who lived in Pontiac, Michigan for 8 years, I draw and paint and sculpt. I am a widow of two years, I was married to a wonderful artist who carved bones and deer antlers. I love people, God and art.
