I am always looking for books that contain the latest techniques and. new twists on old techniques. Sarajane Helm's new book has both. The book's focus is the four seasons. It includes 25 attractive projects in color palettes that correspond to spring, summer, autumn and winter. You will find clear directions for making decorative masks, covered eggs, jewelry, floral arrangements, cards, picture frames, Christmas ornaments and more. Instructional pictures accompany each project.

What I like best about this book, however, is that it is loaded with practical information such as the section on the care and feeding of pasta machines. Marie Segal has contributed Premo color recipes for four different palettes based on the four seasons... There is also a section with several recipes for colored stains using Flecto Varathane., paint and pigments...

Want to learn a good way to reduce a cane? It's in here along with instructions on how to make lace canes, floral canes, face canes and snow flake canes. There are also clearly written directions for conditioning clay and mixing colors.

There are plenty of inspiring pictures in Celebrations with Polymer Clay. The photo galleries, grouped according to season with corresponding palettes, contain works by Sarajane Helm and a bevy of guest artists.

This informative book is a worthwhile addition to your polymer clay library.
