Tell us in your own words, how you discovered polymer clay and how long have you been using it?

In 1983 I was looking for a more permanent substance other than plasticine. An art shop recommended it to me, but I had been to quite a number of shops before I found it.

Are there any special artists that you can attribute your interest to or that have inspired you?

My older brother, who is now a computer graphics artist by trade. We have been making plasticine cartoon figures since we were around 10 years old.

What is your specialty?

Full figured rabbits or bunnies that are very humanoid in nature. I've got them skiing, tobogganing, sunbaking, walking on the moon etc. I also do bunny heads as pins or magnets with five different expressions. In the last five years I have also started making landscapes of a 'fantasy' type that makes use of both polymer clay and paper mache...

Can you tell us why you find polymer clay the expressive medium for you?

Very good results are possible without an expensive outlay.

Have you published any polymer clay books or do you have any in the works?

No.

I know it is very difficult to express, but have you won any awards for your polymer clay work?

No.

What are your expectations for the future? Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?

In five years I hope to be better than I am now, as indeed I am better now than five years ago. I have always wanted to make a business of this but the amount of time required for each piece makes them too expensive.

Do you have any advice for the beginning polymer clay enthusiasts?

No.

Are you a member of any Polymer Clay group,or any other craft organization?

No.

What brands of polymer clay do you prefer and why?

Modelene (In Australia) I managed to buy a large supply at very cheap prices. Also Sculpty but I find this to be not as strong.

Last and most important can you tell us all about you? Your family, your training?

Just another frustrated artist that is able to release some of my artistic ambitions through this medium. I drive a bus for a living and have plenty of time while on the job to plot out my next piece.
