Tell us in your own words, how you discovered polymer clay and how long have you been using it?
have been using polymer clay for about seven years, I 'discovered' it as a child at a friends house...it was all the rage!
Are there any special artists that you can attribute your interest to or that have inspired you?
Ronan Boyle..I used to sit and watch him for hours..his creations were very much like claymation figures.
What is your specialty?
I love to sculpt human forms...stylized realism?
Can you tell us why you find polymer clay the expressive medium for you?
I have trouble with the feeling of clay when it dries on my hands..yuck..like nails on a chalkboard! I find polymer very forgiving.
Have you published any polymer clay books or do you have any in the works?
I know it is very difficult to express, but have you won any awards for your polymer clay work?
My sculptures are few... I have one in a restaurant, quite elaborate..and six others gracing mine, family and friends' homes...I like to create for specific people and places.
What are your expectations for the future? Where do you hope to be 5 years from now?
I have two children, so every bit of creativity is being directed to them at this time..in five years I hope to have had at least one showing.
Do you have any advice for the beginning polymer clay enthusiasts?
Wash your hands and tools...this stuff corodes.
Are you a member of any Polymer Clay group,or any other craft
What brands of polymer clay do you prefer and why?
Last and most important can you tell us all about you? Your family, your training?Leave Your Interview!
When I sculpt I get really intense.. I think really deeply about my goals and about what I want to impress with the piece...I really get off on the 'creation'.
